I choose two animals each new moon cycle as symbols to balance the Mother/Father aspects we each carry in different ways.

Every month on the new moon for a several years now I've chosen two animals for balancing:
Mother/Father Yin/Yang Earth/Sky
I also want to acknowledge another animal very close to the earth that works closely with Butterfly. On solstice 2006 Snake came on the Mother side and Butterfly on the Father. Snake has a way of taking you through tight places when it's time to shed old skins, in times of death and rebirth. Last month Snake came again in the aspect of Father sky. I also thank Moose who showed up for Mother Earth, a strong feminine energy who has bolstered my confidence and strength.
I've been a moon watcher ever since I was a teenager when we'd have "howl at the moon" parties at the park. This is the last day of this moon cycle. I'm inspired to begin a new tradition for Earth Service in sharing them here with you in the process of discovery, balance and transformation.
